Which version of Chronos should I order?

Which is the best delivery medium for my company, Internet or CD-ROM?

Chronos Internet offers the full flexibility of e-learning - access from any PC equipped with an Internet connection (subject to our system requirements). This version is also supported by a database which allows tracking of learner progress and storage of text contributed to Chronos by learners. Deployment of the Internet version also allows the buyer to monitor uptake of Chronos by employees, and prepare appropriate reports.

Chronos on CD-ROM offers the flexibility of anytime, anywhere learning, but without the need for an Internet connection. This version is also faster than the Internet version since content is loaded directy from a CD-ROM (subject to our system requirements). Chronos on CD-ROM is a better choice for those with slow or unpredictable Internet or Intranet connections. However, since the CD-ROM version contains no database, the text that learners contribute to Chronos will not be maintained from session to session, and its uptake by employees cannot be tracked by learning administrators.

Can Chronos be customised?

Although Chronos has been designed to meet the needs of a broad business audience, many aspects of the product are open to customisation. For example, Chronos could be translated into different languages or modified to meet the needs of different sectors, job functions or themes. Chronos can also be customised to the needs of individual companies.

Chronos can be customised in a variety of ways. Firstly, its identity can be changed to reflect the look of the client's project or organisation. Secondly, its content can be made more relevant and specific to the needs of the audience involved. Thirdly, it can be prepared for delivery on a corporate Intranet, or within a corporate learning management system. Fourthly, it can be provided with a back office facility to allow clients to track and download user progress. And finally, advice can be provided about how to align Chronos with related communications, training and change initiatives.

What does the name Chronos mean?

Chronos (khronos) is the Greek word for time. It was chosen as the name of this learning programme because long-term thinking is so important to sustainable development. Thinking long term involves looking beyond quarterly targets to the future competitive position of the company. Great business leaders have the capacity to think long-term. They can foresee and respond to global trends before others realise the business environment has changed.
